SUSTAINABLE RESOURCES
Whether you’re looking to recycle more, fix rather than replace, or give your time to something green, this page is your starting point. We’ve gathered a growing collection of local and national resources — from recycling schemes and repair cafés to volunteering opportunities and community initiatives — all aimed at making sustainable living a little easier and a lot more connected.
We’re always adding to this list, so check back often. And if you know of a brilliant resource we’ve missed, we’d love to hear about it!
Local Repair Cafes

Lichfield Repair Café – Bring along your broken, worn-out or tired possessions and our skilled volunteers will do their best to breathe new life into them. From stitching and mending clothing to reviving electrical items, sharpening tools, and rescuing garden and household goods — if it’s fixable, we’ll give it a go. Stay a while, enjoy some refreshments, and pick up new skills through our hands-on workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions. All ages welcome, including little ones. Parking is a doddle and the venue is fully accessible for wheelchairs. Click here for more info.
Grace Cares
Grace Cares gives pre-loved care equipment — from mobility aids to daily living essentials — a new lease of life, making it available to the public, NHS and care sector at a fraction of the original cost. But it doesn’t stop there. The profits fund hardship grants and vital support for unpaid carers and older people across the country, while also powering monthly community events and activities that bring people together around care and sustainability. For care providers, choosing pre-loved equipment also helps demonstrate a genuine commitment to environmental responsibility.
Whether you’re in need of good quality care equipment at a reasonable cost, or you have something to donate and want to see it put to good use, the team at Grace Cares are beyond friendly and always happy to help. A wonderful example of doing good in more ways than one. Click here to find out more.

Preloved Sports CIC
Got sports kit gathering dust in your wardrobe? Preloved Sports CIC is doing something brilliant with it. This lovely community enterprise takes donated sportswear and gives it a second life — reselling it, redistributing it to those who need it, or even repairing and repurposing items that are a little worse for wear. It’s a simple but powerful way to cut down on the mountains of clothing heading needlessly to landfill, while raising money for charity and supporting people in need at the same time.
Whether you want to donate your old kit, grab a bargain, or simply do both — click here to get involved and be part of the solution.
